He’s enjoyed success on the football field and now former Power star Robbie Gray hopes to kick another goal when he sells his $1.6m Henley Beach home.

The talented forward, who played 271 games for Port Adelaide between 2007 and 2022 and won the John Cahill Medal three times, bought his 20b Chambers St property in 2017 when his wife Bel was pregnant with their first child.

“We had an apartment before and loved Henley Beach and wanted to get into the area and it ticked all of the boxes,” Gray said.

“I was always at the beach doing recovery, and it was only 10 to 15 minutes away from the football club as well, so it was a great location.

“Bel was able to walk everywhere with the pram and young kids and she loved that – daily life is just so easy in a location like that.

“We have spent six wonderful years in the house – it was our first family home and we have absolutely loved living there.”

With two indoor living areas and a covered alfresco area with outdoor kitchen, Gray said the home was an ideal entertainer.

“I’ve spent a fair bit of time away from home with footy throughout my career and it was always a nice place to return to,” he said.

“We loved to have friends and teammates over and entertain, whether it be a dinner or a barbecue out the back – we’ve shared plenty of good times here over the years.

“The house and the location is idyllic for a family, particularly one with young children – the proximity to the beach, shops and other community amenities is second to none.”

Now returning to Melbourne to be closer to both of their families, Gray is excited about his next chapter, both personally and professionally, as he continues his work with the club’s recruitment and list management team.

“All three of our kids have been brought up in that house, so there are a lot of great memories there and it’s sad to be out of there, but we’re excited for what’s next as well,” he said.

“We tried to find something really similar to this one so we’ve found one with a similar floorplan.”
