Quirky features are aplenty at this Mount Barker home, but there’s one in the backyard that will make you circle back.

The circular detached building looks like a tiny cottage but it’s actually the three-bedroom home’s laundry.

Sexton Glover Watts agent Paul Richards, who is selling the property at 21 Cameron Rd, said it wasn’t always a laundry.

“It would have been an old original tank, it’s been converted into a laundry,” he said.

“Laundries outside don’t always put people off because they can be loud.”

Mr Richards, who is selling the property with James Richards, said its character and reasonably large backyard were among the many features attracting househunters, mostly first-home buyers and couples.

“It’s not a run of the mill house and it’s in a really good location,” he said.

The home is on a 672sq m block and has rear lane access, making it easy to store a caravan or other vehicles.

Its three bedrooms and bathroom surround a central living area, while a combined kitchen and dining room open onto a rustic outdoor entertainment area.

In addition to the quirky laundry, a brick pizza oven, two sheds and lawn area surrounded by manicured gardens can be found in the backyard.

Mr Richards said there was a lot to love about the property.

“I particularly like the kitchen – the cement benchtop is pretty cool,” he said.

The property is being sold via a best offers campaign that ends at noon on June 8.

According to property records, the home last sold in September 2019 for $445,000.
