Sometimes the answer has been right in front of you all along.

That’s what Becky and Sergio found when they bought their stunning Prospect home at 19 Azalea St in 2016.

An exhaustive search for their next family home was proving annoyingly unsuccessful, until her parents offered up a novel solution.

“We bought the home from my mum and dad,” Becky says.

“We were keen to live in that area and it was taking ages to find a quality home with a good floorplan and then Mum and Dad came to the realisation that their home was too big for them – at one stage they had my sister living there with them with their niece – and they decided to downsize.

“They could see that they had everything we were looking for right there and so they said, ‘why don’t you buy our house?’.

“We relocated there from the beach because we wanted the boys to go to Blackfriars and we really loved Prospect because it was a fantastic area close to my partner’s work.

“We’ve made a range of improvements inside to modernise it a little, and we tried to make it a bit more low-maintenance by putting in the putting green and the basketball court to make that space an easy-care one we can enjoy.

“We’re not a massive golfing family but we love using it when we have people over and it’s great fun.

“And we all love basketball and love shooting hoops.”

The home has four bedrooms, a home theatre/living space/fifth bedroom, a formal living and dining space, and a casual open-plan kitchen, living and dining area opening to both a covered entertainer’s terrace and a separate courtyard.

“There’s room here if someone wanted to add a pool too, so as amazing as it is, it still offers potential,” Becky says.

“There are five of us and a dog here and I can’t stress how convenient this property is for us.

“Everything we need is here. Shops, school, cafes, restaurants – it’s all within walking distance and when I walk up Prospect Rd I always bump into mums I know and wherever I drive all the kids know me and call out ‘Hey Becky!’.

“It’s just that sort of community and, with some amazing developments on the horizon, I honestly think its best is yet to come.”

The couple are now looking for a sea-change and say it is time for another family to enjoy their wonderful home.

“It has worked brilliantly for us and it’s perfect for anyone who’s looking for that lifestyle we’ve loved,” Becky says.
