Calling all diehard Pokemon fans and investors searching far and wide for a quirky apartment they can use as a holiday rental – “I choose you” will be the first thing you’ll say after seeing this property.

The Pokemon-themed two-bedroom apartment on the 13th floor of the Bohem Apartments building at 1310/156 Wright St has hit the market, with the potential to purchase all its merchandise too.

The owner purchased the modern apartment when it was built in 2017 and leased it out to tenants Lin and David, who have been subletting it as holiday accommodation since 2019.

The couple have decked it out with Pokemon paraphernalia, including bed spreads, plush toys and figurines, soft furnishings, as well as 21 seasons of the show and the first three movies to binge.

It has since evolved into a popular sport for travellers to stay and ‘catch ‘em all’ while visiting the city.

Fans of Pokemon themselves, Lin said they bought all the merchandise specifically for the apartment.

“We decided to do a theme to test it out and we’re big fans of Pokemon,” she said.

“We wanted to stand out from the rest of the Airbnbs.”

The apartment is one of several others the couple run as holiday accommodation, including a DC vs Marvel-themed one, through their company Central Escape.

It is often booked out months in advance and has even attracted popular YouTuber UnlistedLeaf, who is a big Pokemon fan and has 2.66 million subscribers.

Lin said they were willing to sell all the merchandise to the apartment’s new owner if they wanted to continue to run the themed accommodation.

“We are open to selling the Pokemon merchandise,” she said.

“When the property gets sold, we’ll probably have to start up another Pokemon-themed one.”

One Point Eight Real Estate managing director Michael Gleeson, who is selling the property with Simon Wojcik and Sarah Peng, said if offered prospective buyers a golden opportunity.

“You could buy it all and keep the apartment as it is,” he said.

“It’s potentially a business as well as an apartment.”

Mr Gleeson said he had sold some quirky properties but nothing like this one.

“I’ve actually not seen themed places before.” he said.

“You get the random Port Adelaide or Crows rooms but this one is a shrine to Pokemon.

“Everyone I mention it to says, ‘wow, show me the photos’.”

The property also comes with a secure garage space.

It is being sold via an expressions of interest campaign, that closes on June 12.
