If fairies were into eco living, then this nature-infused log home is where they’d call home.

On a 1844sq m block, 42 Whitewood Drive, Upper Sturt is believed to have been built around hundred-year-old trees in the 1980s, with the intention to create a fairytale like setting both inside and out.

The three-bedroom log home stands as a harmonious blend of comfort and nature-infused living, while a large undercover pergola with fairy light gives the feeling of being on a movie set of a Hollywood blockbuster.

Selling agent Phil Crowder of Belle Property Adelaide Hills said the home, which has been listed for sale with a price guide of $1.15m to 1.18m, offered buyers something unique.

“The home is a real fairytale, that’s the feeling that it gives,” he said.

“There is something quite unique and something quite special about it.

“From what I was told, the property started with a father and a son putting a deck around a tree … so the home was built around that nature aspect.

“The block is also very private. It’s very quiet and while you have neighbours, you can’t really see or hear them.”

Built with family living in mind, the meticulously maintained residence encompasses three bedrooms, the main of which enjoys the privacy and loftiness of a mezzanine setting.

Two bathrooms flank the lower floor bedrooms, with the larger of the two featuring a bathtub and feature-window outlook over the tree-lined yard.

The heart of the home is the open-plan living, dining and kitchen space which opens out to a timber deck for alfresco dining.

Mr Crowder said demand for the property was driven by city buyers looking for a tree change.

“Interest in the property is going really well … and most has come from locals, buyers looking to move to the Hills from the city,” he said.

“But we also had one buyer looking at it with the view to use as an Airbnb because of the set up and location, and we’re also following up with an interstate buyer.

“Properties in Upper Sturt are always sought after as they are just at the top of the freeway and are still very affordable compared to some other areas.”

The property last sold in 2022 for $950,000, according to property records.
