“We have received a lot of inquiries, and have had email and verbal offers,” she said.

“I think this boatshed is most probably the best one in Cornelian Bay.

“Not just because it is beautifully renovated, but because it is located right next to a little beach and it only has one neighbour.

“To my knowledge, there are no others available at the moment. However, occasionally they sell privately.”

No.1A Boatshed was built in 1937 and renovated to include a terrific celery top pine kitchen, Tasmanian oak floors, a chic bathroom with a shower, vanity and WC, plus diamond-shaped windows that add to the property’s appeal.

The sheds were originally built in the 1840s, but most that are still standing today date back to the 1920s and 1930s.

In a typical year, anywhere from none to a small handful of these properties might be available to purchase.

Per realestate.com.au, there has not been a sale since May 2021, when No.17 sold for $240,000.

Mrs Paton said once sold she believes No.1A will set the bar for the highest sale price for a Cornelian Bay boatshed.

“The offers received so far are considerably higher than what I understand to be the current highest price for a boatshed sold at Cornelian Bay,” she said.

No.1A is priced at “Offers over $395,000”.
