For less than $300,000 you can buy your very own QCWA hall in a small country town.

The Queensland Country Women’s Association Hall in the township of Ravenshoe has hit the market with an asking price of $299,000.

The building at 15 Herbert St, Ravenshoe, sits on a fenced 1214sq m block of land with the North Cedar Creek running along the back boundary.

The hardwood timber hall sits on steel stumps and is painted in the iconic QCWA blue and white.

Inside, the main hall space has timber floors, VJ walls, high ceilings, built-in bench seating and fans.

The large kitchen, which has no doubt been the scene of many a scone and biscuit bake-fest, has a servery window to the main hall, a freestanding stainless steel cooker, built-in cabinetry and loads of storage space.

There are also two toilets at the back of the hall and a small porch with ramp access at the front.

In the listing, selling agent Vikki Burnett of @Realty described the building as being ready for transformation into a home or business.

The hall is a short walk from the town’s grocery shops, bakery and pub.

Ms Burnett wrote that Ravenshoe was a “picturesque and peaceful countryside town”.

“Nestled in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range, Ravenshoe offers a unique lifestyle and community for those looking for a change of pace,” she wrote.

Ravenshoe is on the Atherton Tablelands, about two hours southwest of Cairns, and is home to 1300 people.
