This waterfront property at 12 Ragamuffin Quay, Trinity Park, was one of the most expensive sales in the Cairns region this past financial year.

The Cairns region’s most expensive home sales of this financial year have been revealed with waterfront properties topping the list.

Coming in at number one was 195 Esplanade, Cairns North, which sold for $4.5 million in December last year.

Believed to have been sold off market, this four-storey property has ocean views, a swimming pool and even an elevator.

Second spot was taken out by 3 Ragamuffin Quay, Trinity Park, which sold for $4.25 million in November, 2022, setting a new record for the suburb.

Sold by husband and wife team Jenna and Nathan Shingles of FNQ Hot Property, this award-winning six-bedroom property was built by Ash Moseley Homes.

The two-storey house is on 1,004 sqm in the Bluewater Harbour Canal Estate with 40m of canal frontage, a 12m pontoon, 699 sqm under roof, a 2,500l indoor pond and a heated pool.

Just up the road, 12 Ragamuffin Quay, Trinity Park, changed hands for $3.5 million in August, 2022 with Mr and Mrs Shingles as selling agents.

Another Ash Moseley Homes build, this property was named the 2020 Master Builders House of the Year and briefly held the suburb sale record until 12 Ragamuffin Quay sold.

The four-bedroom waterfront home features a 15m pontoon, basement carparking, pool and C-Bus home automation.

The fourth most expensive home sale was 17/4-10 Escape Street, Port Douglas, which was sold by Caroline Yarr of Sotheby’s Port Douglas for $3.45 million in April this year.

The luxury villa was recently built overlooking a golf course and has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, private swimming pool and a membership to the Mirage Country Club.

The fifth placeholder, 1/29 Murphy Street, Port Douglas, sold for $3.4 million.

The four-bedroom, four-bathroom property with pool is part of the Flagstaff Pavilions duplex and is close to the heart of town.

The home was sold by Tony Soltys of Ray White Port Douglas just eight months after it sold for $2.475 million.

Mrs Shingles said the prestige real estate market was “holding strong” in the Cairns region.

“There is still very good interest in the high end of the market flowing on from people wanting to move up from the regions and Queensland in particular,” she said.

“The numbers are a bit low interest-wise but the pricing is holding strong.”
