It has been just over a year since Denis Roberts bought his Encounter Bay home, but it was all the time he needed to completely transform it.

Now he has put the property at 7 Theisenger Court on the market with a $1.15m to $1.25m price guide, giving someone else the opportunity to enjoy it as much as he has.

While he fell in love with the four-bedroom brick veneer house from the moment he saw it, Mr Roberts knew it needed some TLC.

“It was a challenge to fix it up, it had been let go for a long time – the garden, interior and exterior,” he says.

“There isn’t one square inch that hasn’t been upgraded.”

A fresh lick of paint, new carpets and a new electrical system are among the two-storey house’s upgrades.

Mr Roberts also built a deck that offers sweeping sea views and reconstructed the garden to make it much more low maintenance.

On a sprawling 1344sq m block, the main living areas and four bedrooms are on the house’s top level to make the most of the picturesque coastal vistas.

The lower level is dedicated to a retreat with bathroom, a laundry and a cellar.

“I created the games room downstairs that could be turned into an Airbnb,” Mr Roberts says.

While there is a lot to love about the home, Mr Roberts says its main living areas are among his favourite spots.

“The lounge room and the kitchen have all got sea views and the deck outside is straight off the kitchen,” he said.

“The three spots really make it something special.”
