Just like its black facade, this North Adelaide home’s interior is contemporary and sleek at every turn.

Neutral tones with black accents, wide widows to let natural light flood through and top-of-the-line fixtures and fittings set the scene for luxury living.

Designed and built by Scott Salisbury Homes in 2021, it is no wonder the modern marvel at 26 Childers St has won state and national Master Builders Australia awards in its category.

Owners Michael Paine and Ashleigh Storr have enjoyed every moment of the past three years living in the property, which they helped design.

But a change in circumstances has led them to list it for sale.

While they had a specific brief when it came to the home’s design, Ms Storr says Scott Salisbury Homes “nailed it perfectly”.

It has an unique floorplan but Ms Storr says that was always their intention.

“We designed the home around the central terrace,” she says.

“If you want to entertain, it’s nice and private.

“I sometimes do yoga out on the terrace too.

“It’s just a really wonderful space to be in to relax, entertain or be in your own world.

“You’re in bustling North Adelaide right near O’Connell St but that space is just so quiet and peaceful.”

The open kitchen, dining and living area at the back of the house – between the central terrace and rear courtyard – also offers a great spot to retreat to.

Walls of glass, including clerestory windows, allow natural light to flow through the living area, while state-of-the-art materials and appliances give the kitchen an air of sophistication.

“It’s a really nice, bright, happy space to be in,” Ms Storr says.

When it comes to bedrooms, the master suite is at the front of the home while its other two bedrooms and a shared bathroom are at the rear.

“We’ve got our own bedroom down one end of the house so when you have guests they have their own space,” Ms Storr says.

The home also has a study nook, a laundry that opens on to another courtyard, and a garage with storage above.

Ms Storr says it will be a hard home to leave.

“We’ve achieved something that’s really special so leaving that will be really hard,” she says. “We’ve loved every second of living here. Whoever purchases it next is really lucky and we hope they love it just as much.”

The property will go to auction at 12.30pm on October 27.
