The Night Before Free Agency

‘Twas the night before free agency, when all through the league
The players are trialing, showing no signs of fatigue.
They lined up their shots and positioned with care,
in hopes that St. Carl would soon be there.
The DPS were on their way to flank the backline,
looking for supports on which to dine.

The coaches watched, and took their notes,
all to decide which player they should promote,
When suddenly they heard the news from Sean Miller,
“The league needs more time, 12/2 will be the thriller!”
The GMs went to Twitter, to look for whose still LFT,
there was so much time, who will the next addition be?
Teams reviewed their VODs and pondered their options,
they prepped their budgets for the free agent auctions.

But the Reign couldn’t wait, they knew who to grab,
It was Stalk3r and Lip who they went to nab.
Dallas and Shanghai are unsure what to do,
as their are rosters empty, their fans are feeling quite blue.
With the Uprising and the Justice looking for a new build,
they have their sights set on only the most skilled.

Toronto and Vancouver have new coaches, hoping to make a splash,
now it’s up to their owners to let them spend the cash.
The Spitfire will stick with Hadi, Admiral, Backbone and Landon
as it is that comradery they do not want to abandon.
Philly and San Fran have some building blocks for a new season,
in fact letting go of MN3, Zest or Proper would be treason.

Seoul are in search for a few new cubs to earn their star,
with Tobi at the helm, success won’t be too far.
The Charge have been quiet, and the Spark as well,
Chengdu makes three, only time will tell.
Florida are making deals and enjoying the sun,
you know with SOMEONE there, it’s always fun.

The Outlaws were so close, and just need one piece,
maybe Luffy can get his Overwatch skills to increase.
Two teams in Los Angeles but only one in the US
The Gladiators new roster is sure to cause a fuss.
The Valiant and the Excelsior are left in the cold,
whatever roster they decide to build will be one to behold.

The Eternal head out of Europe and into the States,
to their new home, Las Vegas awaits.

But what’s this? a new ping from Twitter
A notification, from Miller! He’s no kidder.
The Window is delayed? Again?! Say it ain’t so!
The news was such a surprise, OWL team’s didn’t even know!

And so everyone waited, now till the 23rd,
to see the announcements from the internet blue bird.
Teams had more time, and players could shop around
But now it is time to break new ground.

The Overwatch League is ready for a visit from St. Carl
bringing contracts and memes, near and far.
Contenders players and OWL players hang tight,
for the free agency window opens this very night.

Ink is finally being put to paper, deals being done.
It’s just the start, who knows which team won.
But as St. Carl flies away granting teams their brand new rosters,
he screams through the night “ZEN ZEN HE’S LITERALLY ONE”
