It’s been a year since we first heard of Gori: Cuddly Carnage, with initial plans kicking around for a 2023 release. That release window has now been pushed back, but to compensate, we get a rather lovely new origins trailer to take in.

From Wired Productions and Angry Demon Studio, Gori: Cuddly Carnage is a new brutal hack ‘n slasher. It’s set to launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Utomik and PC. Having originally been planned for a 2023 drop, it’s now looking like we’ll be getting hands-on in early 2024.

Gori: Cuddly Carnage focuses on a land after humanity has been destroyed. It’s here where you meet Gori, F.R.A.N.K. and CH1-P as the trio look to take down the evil Adorable Army. They’ll do so with the most lethal of combos in tow.

The origin tale

You see, having been fuelled by insatiable demand, ‘Cool-Toys Inc.’ created ‘Ultra Pets’. These little guys are the ultimate companions; never falling to hunger, never requiring bathroom breaks. In fact, they are pretty impervious to the ravages of time. But little did anyone expect the mutation that transformed these perfect pets into twisted toys straight from your nightmares, hell-bent on wiping out humanity.

What this means is that in Gori: Cuddly Carnage you’ll get to master explosive weaponry and devastating combos in an epic battle to prevent the Adorable Army from conquering the galaxy. Oh, and you’ll get to rescue Professor Y too – the missing creator and only human who showed Gori and his friends love.

Promising to push your combat and platforming skills to the limits, you’ll fight your way through twisted landscapes filled with environmental hazards, razor-sharp adult humour and a bone-crunching, pulse-pounding soundtrack.
