Black Ops Cold War Season 5 Release Date Announced

Activision and Treyarch have revealed the long-awaited Call of Duty Warzone and Black Ops Cold War Season 5 release date. In a blog post revealing the fifth season of content connecting the two games, the release date has been announced. It is what we expected next week. 

For a while now, Cold War and Warzone have had their days counting down to the end of the current Season 4 battle pass, which you can see anytime that you visit the battle pass tiers. However, it was not sure if the end of the current Season 4 battle pass would be the start of the new season. 

Fortunately, we now know the Black Ops Cold War Season 5 release date. It reveals that the new season is not too far off at this point. Players only have to wait until next week to see the beginning of the next season of content, which looks to be the biggest one yet possibly. 

The Black Ops Cold War Season 5 release date is currently set for Thursday, Aug. 12. Players will be able to jump into the game and start checking out all of the new content available then. That is less than a week away when writing this, so only a few more days left. 

The Black Ops Cold War Season 5 release date includes new game modes, operator skins, a new battle pass, new multiplayer maps, and more. This will, of course, also include some new in-game content for Call of Duty Warzone, so be sure to stay tuned for that. 

With this being the case, players only have less than a week left to get in there and finish off the current Season 4 battle pass. If you still have some tiers and items left to earn, be sure to do that before the end of the season, or else you may never have a chance to earn them again. 

The story so far with the announcement of the Black Ops Cold War Season 5 release date is that the fight against Perseus continues with Woods and the gang heading to Germany to a listening station from NATO that holds a threat that Woods thought was long buried. 

The huge theme of the new fifth season is Double Agent, which is prevalent throughout the new content from the new party game mode that will be available at the launch of the season to the new operator skins that are there, too. 

There is a lot to look forward to in this upcoming season, both for Black Ops Cold War and Call of Duty Warzone players. Both games will be receiving new operators, cosmetic items, and game modes to enjoy. This is without a doubt the largest launch of a new season of content that we have seen in this connection. 

The best part is that this is unlikely to be the final season for the Black Ops Cold War and Warzone content. As far as we know, there are six seasons worth of content planned for happening, so this is the second-to-last one that we will see. 

Better yet, due to the success of Cold War, there are possible plans to continue the seasons, but they will likely not connect as much with Warzone. That is because, by then, the new Call of Duty Vanguard title will be released and take over the main connection with the battle royale game. 

In the meantime, players have the Black Ops Cold War Season 5 release date to look forward to for now. It has a little of everything for players, from tons of new multiplayer content to plenty of Warzone content. And, yes, there are even new Zombies additions that players will be able to enjoy. 

While there is no new Zombies round-based map coming out, since we just got Mauer der Toten, there is, fortunately, a new Outbreak map that will be released for those who like that large-scale game mode. And there are some new weapons, too, this season that will be available in nearly all aspects of Cold War, including Zombies. 

This leads up to the middle of the season, in which we will get The Numbers limited-time event. Not much is known about what this event will have, but we do know that The Red Doors have not yet disappeared from Warzone and are only getting weirder and crazier. 

This is all likely leading up to a long-awaited reveal of the next mainline Call of Duty game. Rumored to be Vanguard and known to be developed by WWII developer Sledgehammer Games, the 2021 Call of Duty title is likely to be one of the most anticipated games this year, especially for fans of the 2017 entry.  

Everything is coming to a head soon with the launch of Season 5 of Call of Duty Warzone and Black Ops Cold War. Remember that the Black Ops Cold War Season 5 release date is currently set for Thursday, Aug. 12, so be ready to download and install the patch sometime next week, possibly before the season begins.
