TruCash and Tourism Mississauga Launch City Stimulus Program Second Year in a Row

TORONTO, August 10, 2021 – TruCash (formerly DCR Strategies Inc.), one of Canada’s leading payments providers, continues its partnership with Tourism Mississauga for the second consecutive year. Mississauga’s city stimulus program, called ‘It Pays to Stay,’ is relaunching this year following its success in 2020. 

 

By booking a minimum two-night stay at a participating hotel, visitors or residents of Mississauga can receive a $100 Visa® prepaid card at check-in. Recipients can then spend the cards at local businesses or restaurants across the city to explore Mississauga and drive economic recovery. Each card is supplied and custom-designed by TruCash to reflect the Dine, Shop, and Play program themes, in addition to a mobile app for checking transactions on the go.

 

Tourism Mississauga has also sponsored the Silver Salmon Challenge to attract fishing enthusiasts with a dual ‘Reel in a Deal’ campaign. Visitors who book a fishing charter with a participating company receive $100 prepaid cards, plus the chance to win over $350,000 in prizes until the end of August. The program’s first installment generated positive results, with 60% of rewards spent at food service locations and a 50% boost in local spending overall. It was also the first-of-its-kind in Canada, catalyzing other city stimulus programs to develop, including Vancouver and Fort McMurray.
