A string of private equity giants are reportedly preparing early bids for Spanish fertility treatment specialist IVI-RMA which could value the company at up to €2bn.

KKR, Permira, Bain Capital, CVC Capital Partners, Carlyle and PAI Partners are all priming bids for a controlling stake in the business ahead of a deadline for non-binding offers later this month, Reuters said, citing unnamed sources.

It said Spain is one of Europe’s biggest markets for in-vitro fertilization, with a compound average growth rate of 7.21% due to an increase in fertility tourism and the high success rates of treatments, according to a study by Market Data Forecast.

IVI-RMA has over 75 clinics and 28 labs in nine countries, with core earnings of about €120m, one of the Reuters sources said.

Two months ago buyout giant CVC tapped its €21.3bn Fund VIII to buy into pan-European IVF provider FutureLife.

FutureLife runs 42 clinics in eight European markets including Czech Republic, Ireland, Netherlands, Finland, Romania and Estonia to provide IVF and laboratory services as well as biological and surgical treatments.
