A new year ushers in a fresh batch of Overwatch 2 content. Season 2 of the game is still underway, but the first major update of 2023, beginning Season 3, will bring awaited changes to the
game. These include, potentially, new heroes, maps and balance changes. The new Season will also renew the Battle Pass, giving players new challenges to complete and items to earn. Here’s what to expect from Overwatch 2’s Season 3 Battle Pass.

Overwatch 2 Season 3 releases soon, but details are still light on what’s coming to the game. Balance changes to overpowered heroes and the addition of new heroes are a given, but what exactly those entail is currently unknown. Whatever ends up coming to Overwatch 2 with the arrival of Season 3 is likely to shake up the competitive meta in the form of balancing, maps and heroes.

All Overwatch 2 Battle Passes have 80 tiers, and each tier has a free and premium reward. Premium rewards are earned by buying the Premium Pass for 1,000 Overwatch coins (equivalent $10). Rewards from the Battle Pass include skins, voice lines, sprays and other cosmetics. For free players, new heroes aren’t unlocked until mid-way through the Battle Pass: Tank hero Ramattra unlocks at tier 45 of the free Pass, while Premium players got access to him immediately.

One can expect the new hero of Season 3 to be located similarly on the Battle Pass. Players will have the entire season to complete the Pass, and premium users get a 20% XP boost to make progression through the Battle Pass faster.
