At first glance you may think that Elechead arrives on Xbox consoles as your everyday standard platformer. You’d be wrong. There’s some unique power kicking around inside this one – in fact, there’s probably enough to really light up your life.

Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, as well as PC in fact, Elechead from NamaTakahasi is a platformer in which you take charge of Elec; a little robot dude who is intent on delivering light back to his world.

Luckily, Elec comes with the power needed to do just that and as he touches the floor, a wall, a platform or a switch, he magically powers it up. Utilising an on/off structure, you’ll need to help Elec work his way through multiple levels in order to escape from the facility that he is in.

It’s priced nicely at £7.09 – and we’re not sure we’ve ever seen a game arrive on the Xbox Store for that exact price point – but that does mean this could well be one to take a punt on. If you do, expect to be treated to a little platformer that could well illuminate your life, utilising brain and finger power in order for Elec to stay safe.

Think that the light of hope is one worth getting involved? Get yourself over to the Xbox Store, pay up that asking price and take in an evening or three with little Elec. Surely your life will be enlightened by what he brings?

We’ll get on the review process soon, delivering some thoughts as to how this one plays.

Game Description:

In a world enshrouded by darkness, deep inside a factory, the light of hope still shines. ElecHead has you play as Elec, a small robot on a mission to bring light back to the world. When Elec touches walls, floors, platforms, switches, and more, he makes electricity run through them, activating them. He can also detach and throw his head to trigger things remotely, but be careful: if he doesn’t get his head back within ten seconds, he will shut down. Elec will have to use his head, literally and figuratively, to find a way out of this trap-ridden facility.
