I finally have my own 3D printed LEGO compatible horse. Now that I have a castle, I thought it was about time. Since I used the LDCad file of a LEGO horse as a basis, the design looks very similar to the LEGO horse with the number 4493c01pb01, just that this one is plain for obvious reasons. To assemble the horse you need the two parts “Horse-Body-Left” and “Horse-Body-Right”, as well as the head parts “Horse-Head-Left” and “Horse-Head-Right”. These are connected with the respective connectors, two of each type. You don’t need any glue for this, although you may need a little sandpaper, but for me it worked without it and it holds wonderfully. Optionally you can also use the “horse top” when no minifigure is riding, but this is not absolutely necessary.

Every Thursday is #3dthursday here at Adafruit! The DIY 3D printing community has passion and dedication for making solid objects from digital models. Recently, we have noticed electronics projects integrated with 3D printed enclosures, brackets, and sculptures, so each Thursday we celebrate and highlight these bold pioneers!

Have you considered building a 3D project around an Arduino or other microcontroller? How about printing a bracket to mount your Raspberry Pi to the back of your HD monitor? And don’t forget the countless LED projects that are possible when you are modeling your projects in 3D!
