An audio recording has been obtained which highlights 3 CS:GO players from North America discussing plans to fix 2 ESEA MDL competitive matches. The recording released by Dust2.us on 2 April 2021, involves players from the former Rebirth lineup – Sebastian “retchy” Tropiano, Kevin “4pack” Przypasniak, and Carson “nosraC” O’Reilly, fixing the outcomes of 2 matches. This evidence came to light following ESIC Commissioner – Mr. Ian Smith publicly revealing that the FBI was now involved in the North American match-fixing investigation. The 2 matches discussed were against local CS:GO teams Incognito and Russian Canadians, but were postponed or forfeited as the players became aware of a possible recording existing and wanted to make sure that no one was monitoring their betting activity.

Audio Recording Reveals CS:GO Match-Fixing Discussions
The 3 players mentioned above have been caught via an audio recording having a discussion around fixing the outcomes of 2 ESEA MDL CS:GO matches. However, both the discussed matches were either postponed or forfeited as the players became aware about a possible recording existing.
2 other CSGO players who were caught scheming in the recording were Russian Canadian players Alex “vek” Voynov and David “J0LZ” Jolin, who agreed to participate in the match-fixing idea.
As explained by retchy in the recording, for nearly a week it had been planned that his CS:GO team at that time Rebirth would lose their match against Russian Canadians. The same was discussed with the oppositions in-game leader vek and ‘on radar’ method was agreed upon to ensure the outcome of the match.
‘On Radar’ is a popular method of cheating used by match-fixers where their game of CS:GO is stramed live via third-party programs such as Discord to the opposite team. This allows opponents to easily keep track of the game at all points of time, making the whole process of cheating seem natural and seamless.
Another Russian Canadians player, J0LZ was mentioned in the recording as “being okay with it (match-fixing scheme)”. While retchy’s other 2 teammates, 4pack and nosraC were forcibly kept out of the loop because of him for the whole thing to look legit.
The whole recording was later sent to the ESEA admins and from there it was handed over to ESIC who are already investigating the match-fixing in North America. As stated by Mr. Smith himself, the first preliminary report of the ongoing investigation will be revealed “within the next 10 days to 2 weeks”.
