It’s another Worlds showdown between LPL and LCK teams as KT Rolster vs LNG rocked the Worlds stage in a bo3 series that was on a knife’s edge.

Not so long ago, the showstoppers at LNG enjoyed a solid winstreak against two western teams before JDG killed their momentum. Now another LCK seed threatens to bring them down, one that has won against both Chinese and Korean teams in the past. And while both teams were relatively safe in their placements, the winner of this bo3 would advance to quarterfinals.

If you want to bet on League of Legends or love the game, this KT Rolster vs LNG Recap is for you!

KT Rolster vs LNG Recap Worlds 2023

Game 1

LNG’s Neeko comp let the LPL team play true mid while scouting on other lanes with Tarzan’s direction. On the other hand, KT rolster’s off-meta ADC pick had huge potential, assuming the rest of the team could play around Jinx.

After first blood was spilled in botlane by KT, GALA countered by chipping away at Lehends’ Alistar and finishing his off with an unexpected Infernum. Following a daring escape by LNG’s top-laner,  Scout and co. rallied on top to stop the Rift Herald’s charge. But because of an over-forced play, KT ended up getting the upper hand and securing a nice lead.

The match stayed really close in terms of gold and objectives at the 15-minute mark, but the tide started to turn after KT stole Mountain Drake and secured a big defense buff for themselves. Afterwards, both teams played respectfully and bounced waves until LNG attempted Baron. In response, KT took out a couple of their members to discourage the contest.

Later on, both teams converged onto Baron again. This time, the skirmish ended with LNG getting the buff. And with the gold gap finally closed, Zika and Tarzan were able to crack down on KT Rolster and send them back running back to base, leaving only Bdd and Klin alive. After a few fights, LNG was able to secure a strong enough lead to take bottom inhibitor and push all the way to the blue nexus.

Quick Stats

  • Teams: KT 0 – 1 LNG
  • Time: 35:25
  • Kills: 9 – 12
  • Turrets: 3 – 9

  • Dragons: 3 – 2
  • Barons: 1 – 1

Game 2

Both team drafts had a heavy earlygame focus. Kiin’s Renekton paired well with his Sejuani Jungler to control anything Zika might’ve pulled. But all in all, LNG decided to play it safe with their botlane comp.

Starting off on the top lane, the LPL #3 seed got first blood on the enemy Renekton whose escape got cut off by LNG’s J4. KT equalized the score later on while Zika remained slippery on Jax. Both teams struggled to push a lane, but everyone was equally-matched. Consequently, red side warded KT’s top jungle to see if they’d try for Baron while LNG lagged behind.

After fighting for vision, both rosters drifted towards Nashor, and after a few skirmishes, KT finally felled the objective before turning on LNG in a slugfest that corralled them deeper into enemy territory, resulting in even more of a lead for the LCK team.

KT was in the lead once again. With complete vision and all 4 drakes on their side, Bdd and co. were in a strong position to close out Game 2. And after another Baron buff, KT were able to slowly but surely take the game and equalize the score.  Cuzz, Bdd and Aiming achieved a flawless victory with zero deaths.

Quick Stats

  • Teams: KT 1 – 1 LNG
  • Time: 32:33
  • Kills: 14 – 3
  • Turrets: 10 – 2

Game 3

The qualification game between KT & LNG started was decided in the third and final match which broke the tie between two equally powerful rosters. Bdd’s return to Azir brought back moments from Worlds 2021 where the mid-laner also fought against Scout. Besides that, LNG ‘s comp focused on big wombo-combos with  Rakan/Wukong/Orianna.

An early kill went to Cuzz after his ignite finished Hang off. Afterwards, the game slowed down until the 8-minute mark when KT claimed a Cloud Drake. Things were leaning towards KT’s favor for a while before LNG was able to surprisingly steal Mountain drake, find a couple of picks and even out the score. For the first time in 2 games, the 3rd seed of the LPL flipped the script and got more lane pressure after killing Cuzz and Bdd.

Win Probability stayed in the blue, and after LNG got Herald they had a secure gold lead. The LPL kept their momentum and slowly built their gold lead until they opened up their opponent’s base and ended the series.

Quick Stats

  • Teams: LNG 2 – 1 KT
  • Time: 24:18
  • Kills: 15 – 4
