Velan Studios’ dodgeball-inspired multiplayer game Knockout City will kick off Season 2 next week with Fight at the Movies. Starting on 27th July, there will be a new map, a new ball, new playlists, new gear and rewards for players to earn.
Fight at the Movies adds the new Holowood Drive-in map, which is obviously inspired by movie drive-ins. The map will change over time as you play, shifting from the spooky Cathedral of Horror theme to the Bridge of Love.
Alongside a new map comes a new special ball, a pick-up to grab on each map that could give you an advantage. The Sosa ball will cover rivals’ screens with sticky soda, obscuring their view and ability to repay the favour with thrown balls of their own.
Through the new season, players will earn new rewards to spice up their character’s style. Again, it’s a movie themed season, so there will be plenty of movie-themed gear. A new season of League Play is also kicking off with its own rewards.
Knockout City is out now and free to try with progression up to Street Rank 25. The game is a part of EA Play, so Xbox Game Pass and EA Play subscribers can play for free. There’s also cross-play multiplayer and cross-progression across PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, Epic and Origin. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S can play via backward compatibility.
