Hawaiian Airlines is forced to trim its Airbus A321neo schedule due to P&W engine inspections

Hawaiian Airlines has announced it is cutting back its schedule for the next two to three months after some of its engines have been recalled for inspections.

Pratt & Whitney recently recalled its PW1100G engines, which impacts Hawaiian Air’s Airbus A321neo fleet.

The airline is cancelling the following routes:

  1. Lihue and Oakland service will be suspended from September 6 through December 14.
  2. Honolulu to San Jose flights on Saturdays and flights from San Jose to Honolulu on Mondays, will be suspended from September 9 through January 8, 2024.
  3. Kahului and San Jose flights on Sundays will also be cancelled from September 9 through January 8, 2024.

Worldwide over a thousand engines manuafactured between 2015 and 2021 will have to be inspected by Pratt & Whitney causing scheduling issues with airlines around the world.
