A Greenwith home is perfectly set up for a golfer to fine tune their short game – or for those who simply love a good view.

John and Alison Evans bought the home at 26 Coomurra Drive almost two decades ago, with that view – stretching out over the Adelaide plains to the sea beyond – captivating them from the very moment they saw it.

“I walked out and took a look at the view, and it changed my life and it was really special,” Mr Evans says.

“I never really looked at the house.

“My wife said it had some issues but I just thought, ‘if we can afford it, this will be ours’.”

The couple have since made a number of improvements to the property, which is on the market with a $1.275m to $1.335m price guide.

They include redoing decking, extending the roofline to cover an alfresco area and installing Ziptrak blinds for year-round entertaining.

They also landscaped the garden, creating a usable space that can be enjoyed by all – but particularly the sports mad.

“We decided to terrace it and I thought if we were going to do that we might as well make it useful,” Mr Evans says.

“So we put a fire pit on one level, and put putting greens on the next two and filled it with fruit trees, and this is it nearly 20 years later.

“I’m not a golfer, but my wife, my two girls – we’ve all used it and if you have a bad day or have nothing to do you just wonder down and take a few balls and have a putt.

“If you were a golfer you’d certainly get your putting skills up.

“For us it was something that made the area useful.

“We made it so you can cover the holes up so you can use it as a space for functions.

“You can put tables and chairs on them and enjoy that space.”

The home has four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a gym, an open-plan kitchen, family and meals area, a study, numerous outdoor entertainment spaces and a swimming pool.

But it is that view Mr Evans says is his favourite feature.

“Being from Africa, we’ve lived in the bush for most of my life, and seeing that view – it’s just stunning and it changes literally by the minute,” he says.

“All of the bedrooms, main rooms and gym – wherever you are you can look out and see a gorgeous vista.

“On a clear day we can look out right across the peninsula and see the grain silos.

“It has been an amazing home, but it’s too big for us now and it really needs another family in here.”
