As the story goes, after Ridley Scott’s iconic Alien film came out in 1979, Bob Burns, a prop collector, asked 20th Century Fox if he could have permission to host an Alien-themed Halloween party. They not only granted him permission, they sent him the principal film model of the Nostromo spaceship!

Because it couldn’t fit in Bob’s garage, he set it up in his driveway. And that’s where it spent much of its life for 20 years before being rescued.

This video from 12 years ago shows the process of restoring the badly damaged and weathered model.
