Barcelona-based Gretel bags over €634k for its digital marketing software

Barcelona-based Gretel has secured over €634k ($700k) for its mission to empower marketers with AI-powered and data-driven insights. The startup is now planning a global launch.

In the digital era, automation and data are fundamental parts of a business’ toolkit. Leveraging tech-led tools means more actionable insights, more efficient processes, and more informed decisions can be taken.

Based in Barcelona, Gretel is on a mission to empower marketers with an AI-powered and data-driven assistant that fuels better decision-making. The startup has just secured over €634k ($700k) to fuel its growth plans.

We want to build the next generation of software, adapting to people’s needs, who they are, their surrounding environment, and their activity.”

The funding was led by Inveready, Extension Fund and Enzo Ventures. Business angels such as Lanai Partners, Dídac Lee, and Kintxo Cortés also participated.

Founded in 2022 by Martí Gou and Alex Hughes, Gretel was built upon collaboration with over 100 marketing experts to test its business concept. The platform aims to make it easier for marketing departments to manage internal information – and has been created with their individual needs in mind.

Martí Gou, co-founder at Gretel: “Marketers are often unaware of many campaign-related events. They lack the resources, time, and data science expertise to identify anomalies, activity, and insights from their marketing data. We’ve decided to build an assistant that finds those for them in a personalized way, bringing those insights wherever they spend most of their time.”

Powered by AI, the platform connects marketing tools such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Meta Ads to provide real-time actionable insights that users can implement in their daily work.

It proactively sends out important data and updates to each user at the appropriate time, so that timely and informed decisions can be made. It specifically focuses on issues that impact marketing departments on a daily basis, such as budgets, the loss of pertinent information, and making important decisions based on incorrect information.

With this new funding, the young company plans to launch internationally, empowering marketing teams to work smarter, faster and with more ease.
