On April 20-21 we’ll be hosting this year’s EU-Startups Summit in Barcelona! Our annual flagship event will gather over 2,000 founders, startup enthusiasts and investors for two exciting days of networking, inspiration and learning. And we can’t wait to welcome you there.

In addition to a buzzing exhibition hall, great networking opportunities, and an exciting pitch competition, we’ll also have two stages where you’ll be able to learn from over 70 speakers and listen to educational and inspiring talks by internationally successful founders.

We’re very excited to share another speaker in our exciting lineup: Ben Younkam, Regional Director for Europe at Village Capital! Ben will join us for a talk on unlocking capital for underrepresented founders who are solving the world’s biggest problems.

As Regional Director of Europe at Village Capital, Ben works on bringing Village Capital’s tools, network, and methodology to the European region to support mission-driven entrepreneurs and grow the existing impact economy.  He has proudly led over 20 accelerator programs while at Village Capital ranging from financial inclusion, sustainable housing, refugee solutions, access to the internet, and under-represented founders.

Based in Washington DC, Village Capital has been disrupting the VC space since 2009 with its mission to back the entrepreneurs of the future. The firm specializes in supporting founders who are building solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges, and, aims to back underrepresented founders. To date, Village Capital has supported over 1,400 startups that have raised over $5 billion in investment capital.

Ben has a considerable track record in impact-driven work, having previously been involved in sustainable tourism in Latin America, as a documentary anthropologist in Peru, and as a consultant for social enterprises globally.
