Alaska Airlines is planning to phase out its last ex-Virgin America Airbus aircraft, an Airbus A321neo, on September 30, 2023.

Chairman of the Alaska ALPA Master Executive Council, Will McQuillen, issued this statement:

September 30 marks the final flight of the Airbus. And it’s an important date to note in our history because, to many, this isn’t just the retirement of a fleet, which I think is always personal to a pilot that has flown an airplane for any portion of their career. But it’s more personal to a significant portion of this pilot group who invested a lot more. It’s another chapter in our post-merger story, and it feels very personal to those who invested and… sacrificed a lot in the post-merger experience.”
