Air Canada and CAE Announce Eight Recipients of the 2023 Captain Judy Cameron Scholarship for Aspiring Women in Aviation

Air Canada and CAE are proud to announce the eight recipients of the 2023 Captain Judy Cameron Scholarship for Aspiring Women in Aviation. This scholarship was created to encourage more women to pursue a career in aviation and to recognize the achievements of Captain Judy Cameron, a pioneering female aviator.

The scholarship is open to female Canadian citizens who are enrolled in a flight training program at a Canadian aviation school. The eight recipients will each receive $20,000 to help cover the cost of their flight training. The scholarship is intended to help reduce the financial burden of flight training and to encourage more women to pursue a career in aviation.

Captain Judy Cameron was a pioneering female aviator who was the first female pilot to fly for Air Canada. She was also the first female captain of a commercial airliner in North America. • Ava Smith from Calgary, Alberta

• Rebecca King from Halifax, Nova Scotia

• Samantha Taylor from Winnipeg, Manitoba

• Emily White from Yellowknife, Northwest Territories
