The University of Toronto is following in the footsteps of other Canadian UBRI partners, such as the University of Waterloo and Toronto Metropolitan University. The UBRI, launched by Ripple in June 2018, saw an initial commitment of over $50 million and partnerships with 17 universities globally. Since its inception, the program has disbursed more than $47 million to its university partners worldwide and boosted its commitment to $80 million this year.
