More than 40 Adelaide properties will go under the hammer today to help raise money for Beyond Blue.

The event will be held at Eos by SkyCity from 4pm and is part of Harcourts Australia’s’ ‘Blue Friday’, with auctions to be held all around the country.

The day is about raising funds to support mental heath so a percentage of proceeds from the event will be donated to Beyond Blue – the Harcourts Foundation will donate a minimum of $50,000.

Adelaide’s event, which will include properties from 11 different offices and 26 listing agents, will have Auslan interpreters in attendance after a partnership was formed with Expression Australia.

Auctioneer Brett Pilgrim, of Harcourts Pilgrim, will facilitate the auction event.

“Properties for sale cover the state’s footprint, being from north, west, south, east, CBD, Adelaide Hills, Barossa Valley – ‘Blue Chip’ suburbs and budget conscious areas,” he said.

Harcourts SA chief executive Gregg Toyama said he was proud of his team for their participation in the event.

“No matter where they are in South Australia, they’ve gotten right behind this nationwide history-making event, and the partnership with Expression Australia is another example of Harcourts demonstrating its people-first values as well as taking a step forward to make access and inclusion real for 4.4 million deaf and hard of hearing Australians,” he said.

Expression Australia chief executive Rebecca Adam said the timing of the event “couldn’t be better”.

“This partnership and event becomes another flagship occurrence in the National Week of Deaf People (NWDP), which is a week-long celebration of the deaf community and really speaks to the theme for this year’s NWDP, ‘A world where Deaf people can sign ‘anywhere’.”
