Wither can be detrimental, but it can also provide a second chance for the skilled. Your health will be withered a lot as you play the game and enter the Umbral Realm. You’ll need to know exactly what you’re dealing with.

What is withered health in Lords of the Fallen?

Wither is a status effect that regards your health. You’ll know when a portion of your health has withered when a grey bar overlaps a portion of your health bar. Withered health puts you in a precarious situation, but it also provides an opportunity. There are a few scenarios that could cause your health to wither, but the trick is using Wither to your favor.

Withered health is more of a blessing than a curse. This is because it provides a second chance. Your health will wither when either you get hit with an attack that applies wither, or if you block an attack. By parrying and blocking, any damage that gets through your defenses won’t deplete your health but will wither it.

With each successful hit you make, you will regain a portion of that withered health. This means that, even though blocking and parrying withers your health, with some successful hits, you’ll get it back in no time. Wither and Umbral in Lords of the Fallen

Wither and withering also ties into the Umbral in Lords of the Fallen.

Your health will get withered if you pass into the Umbral Realm. Also, when in the Umbral Realm, if you use your Sanguinarix, half of the health you should gain will be withered, meaning you must attack to receive the full portion. Wither is much more important to keep track of in the Umbral Realm.

With your Umbral Lamp, however, you can siphon enemies using your light attack button to replenish your health. This health, however, will come withered, meaning you must then attack the enemy to properly replenish your health.
