United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based artificial intelligence (AI) electric solution provider Kintsugi unveiled its Magnus tactical ground vehicle concept on the opening day of the Unmanned Systems Exhibition and Conference (UMEX) 2024 show held in Abu Dhabi from 23 to 25 January.

The Magnus concept is being developed by Kintsugi subsidiary Eneron. Kintsugi corporate communications manager Waleed Alblooshi told Janes, “Leveraging the power of AI, it took less than three months to complete the design.”

The Magnus 4×4 all-terrain vehicle will have a proprietary dual-range extender hybrid system that powers its wheels with 600 kW or 805 hp electric motors on each axle. The vehicle has fully armoured doors without centre pillars that open 90º, allowing troops to quickly mount and dismount and providing a ballistic shield in urban close combat.
