Transat A.T. Inc. Board Member Election Results

Transat A.T. Inc., a leading global travel services provider, recently announced the results of its board member election. The election saw a total of nine candidates vying for six board seats.

The successful candidates were: Jean-Marc Eustache, President and Chief Executive Officer of Transat; Pierre Dandoy, Chairman of the Board of Directors; Paul Desmarais Jr., Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors; Richard Fortin, President and Chief Executive Officer of Groupe Mach; Pierre-Marc Johnson, former Premier of Quebec; and Jean-Guy Desjardins, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Desjardins Group.

The election was conducted by a third-party firm and overseen by an independent scrutineer. The results were based on the votes cast by shareholders at Transat’s Annual General Meeting held on June 5th, 2018.

The newly elected board members bring a wealth of experience to the table. Jean-Marc Eustache has been with Transat since 1998 and has held various executive positions within the company. Pierre Dandoy has been involved with Transat since its inception in 1987 and currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Paul Desmarais Jr., Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors, is a well-known business leader in Canada with extensive experience in the travel industry. Richard Fortin is President and Chief Executive Officer of Groupe Mach, a leading real estate development and investment firm in Quebec. Pierre-Marc Johnson is a former Premier of Quebec and has held various executive positions in both the public and private sectors. Finally, Jean-Guy Desjardins is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Desjardins Group, one of North America’s largest financial institutions.

The newly elected board members will serve a three-year term beginning on July 1st, 2018. The board will be responsible for providing strategic guidance to Transat’s management team and overseeing the company’s operations.
