A round of applause for Top Hat Studios, please. You see, they have done a very good thing in the gaming space. With their Indie Pack initiative, going forward they will semi-regularly release a group of indie titles from small developers as Indie Packs. The first of which drops today, and features three vastly different games, each of which are to be bought separately.

A Tale For Anna

The first, a colourful fairytale by the name of A Tale For Anna, comes to us from Far Mills – a Ukrainian studio. You’ll be journeying across a whimsical and enchanting land as Anna, the only remaining sorceress in a kingdom threatened by the evil Queen. This monstrous monarch has her beady eye on Anna and her magical skills, and has already sent her minions to capture Anna’s talking cat, Tail.

A Tale For Anna will have you learning where Anna came from, as you collect a variety of items to help you on your way, as well as completing some tricky minigames. The game is available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Switch and PC – find it on the Xbox Store here, with the price TBC.

This colorful fairytale A Tale for Anna will transport you to an enchanting, mysterious world full of puzzles, magical creatures, and secrets. Enter a kingdom of magic and wonder as you learn the story of young Anna – the last remaining sorceress in the kingdom.

One day, Anna (who was raised by a talking cat called Tail) discovers that she has magical abilities. However, these abilities also attract the attention of the evil Queen, who’s been spying on Anna through a magic mirror. The Queen has a wicked plan to steal Anna’s magic and bring about an age of darkness. She’s already taken the first step by sending her servants to kidnap Tail!

Explore enchanting worlds with Anna, play tricky minigames, and collect items to help you on your travels. Along the way, you’ll learn more about Anna’s biggest secret: where she came from.

Vision Soft Reset

This time-bending 2D action-adventure is the debut title from Seafloor Games, and is shaping up to be an exciting, action-packed Metroidvania experience. Here, you’ll be running, dashing and jumping across a spacescape as a clairvoyant robot, determined to save his planet from looming disaster.

The most unique mechanic of Vision Soft Reset is that death is just that – it is a soft reset. Instead of restarting from a checkpoint, you can rewind time and give the action another go, exactly like Braid.

Vision Soft Reset Game Description

Peer into the future in this time-travelling metroidvania. Run, jump, shoot and more through varied environments as a clairvoyant cyborg on a mission to prevent a looming planetary disaster. It’s a classic 2D action-adventure revamped with modern sensibilities and a plethora of new mechanics.

The Lost And The Wicked

The third and final indie title to release today on console is The Lost And The Wicked, which is a frantic twin-stick psychothriller from Isaac Torres, Zack Kennedy and company.

This is a dark, grungy shooter that sees you journey through mental torment, as your character and enemies get stronger and stronger, angrier and angrier.

As you progress through The Lost And The Wicked, you’ll encounter a number of different enemies, and your arsenal of weapons and abilities will grow larger. The bosses that you must get past are incredibly tricky affairs, so a mastery of each weapon will be vital, in order to see the end credits of this brutal game.
