In 2024, Tom Darras, the CEO and co-founder of quantum information company WeLinq, is scheduled to present at the prestigious IQT conference in The Hague, highlighting his company’s advancements in quantum computing. Darras, an alumnus of Ecole Supérieure de Physique et de Chimie Industrielles de la ville de Paris, holds a Master’s degree in Physics and another in Quantum Physics from Ecole Normale Supérieure. His impressive academic background is complemented by his practical experience in quantum physics, having conducted significant research at Laboratoire Kastler Brossel in Paris under Prof. Julien Laurat. Darras was instrumental in achieving breakthroughs in quantum networks, including developing the world’s first quantum teleportation protocols based on hybrid entanglement, a key step in interconnecting quantum devices in heterogeneous architectures.

At WeLinq, founded in January 2022 alongside Julien Laurat, Eleni Diamanti, and Jean Lautier-Gaud, Darras has been at the forefront of creating quantum links using cold-atom quantum memories, which are crucial for efficiently interconnecting quantum processors. This technology is pivotal for the scale-up of quantum computing. His prior experience as a quantum optics researcher at Xanadu Quantum Computing, a leader in developing photonic fault-tolerant quantum computers, further solidifies his expertise in the field. Attendees at IQT The Hague can expect to gain in-depth insights into the latest developments in quantum computing and the role of WeLinq in shaping the future of quantum processor interconnectivity.

IQT The Hague 2024 is the Netherlands’ fifth global conference and exhibition. The Hague event is a quantum computer event focusing on quantum communications and security. Ten vertical topics encompassing more than 40 panel talks from over 100 speakers will provide attendees with a deep understanding of state-of-the-art developments of the future quantum internet and the current impact of quantum-safe technologies on cybersecurity and quantum computers.

The conference brings together corporate management, entrepreneurs, end users, technology providers, infrastructure partners, researchers, and investors working on current developments. IQT The Hague is organized by 3DR Holdings, IQT Research, QuTech, QIA (Quantum Internet Alliance), and Quantum Delta, who will bring leading organizations and professionals together in this important event. The April conference is “in-person” to ensure maximum networking and discussion at the Postillion Hotel & Convention Centre in The Hague.
