Over the last few years, a single game developer has looked to introduce players to the weird and the wacky. That dev is Tonguç Bodur and with the power of the Eastasiasoft publishing team behind them, have managed to provide some very unique gaming experiences. The latest is that of The Redress of Mira.

Available right this very minute on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, releasing on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 for good measure, The Redress of Mira sees Bodur and Eastasiasoft team up once again (previously they’ve found magic in Finding the Soul Orb and The Dead Tree of Ranchiuna), this time to create a dynamic fantasy world that is as beautiful as it is strange.

It places you in the shoes of the titular Mira as she looks to find inner peace. As you’d suspect, this is easier said than done, requiring the exploration of the world around her to ensure that peace is found. With gameplay moving from first- to third-person adventuring, and a dark and dangerous world awaiting, you and Mira will need to be on guard at all times.

Overcoming obstacles, navigating the landscapes and traversing a variety of environments, Mira will find herself chatting away to others, fighting back again foes and ultimately trying to understand what is needed in order to see the journey reach a conclusion.

It’s a game that we like, if only as every now and then the Tonguç Bodur weirdness slowly tries to break through. But as our full review of The Redress of Mira on Xbox Series X|S states, whilst the world looks lovely and the storytelling canters along at pace, the mechanics which hold it all together do slightly let things down.

It’ll be up to you to decide whether the £8.39 asking price from the Xbox Store or PlayStation Store makes The Redress of Mira worthy of your time. We guess the ‘Optimised for Series X|S’ tag will make it a little more appealing.
