Talking Logistics Matter – A Conversation with Industry Analyst Adrian Gonzalez

Source Node: 978353

When I started LogisticsMatter in 2010 there were only a few blogs sharing logistics knowledge. One of them was the Logistics Viewpoint blog, which was started by Adrian Gonzalez when he worked at ARC, and I was an avid reader of his blogs, and I still am. Since that time he, like me, started his own platform, which he called Talking Logistics.

Talking Logistics

Such a fitting name! On his blog, Adrian interviews Thought Leaders and Newsmakers in the supply chain and logistics industry. He shares his insights on the logistics and supply chain industries and market research done by his own market research service. As he writes himself:

In addition to launching Talking Logistics, Adrian is the founder and president of Adelante SCM, a peer-to-peer learning and networking community for supply chain and logistics executives and young professionals. He is also the founder of Indago, a market research service that brings together a community of supply chain and logistics practitioners who share practical knowledge and advice with each other while giving back to charitable causes.

I was very excited when Adrian accepted my invitation to be a guest on the Does Logistics Matter? Podcast. It was both an honour and a lot of fun to have a conversation with the man that essentially inspired me to start LogisticsMatter 11 years ago.

Adrian and I talked about the importance of Thought Leadership and Knowledge Sharing in Logistics. We touched on some of the current trends and developments and also talked about the charity Adrian founded after his daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. His Logistics Leaders for T1D Cure Team rides their racing bikes to raise money for JDRF, the leading non-profit organization focused on T1D research. As I’m a Type 1 Diabetic myself, I appreciate his efforts and I know what his daughter is facing every day.

I will join the Logistics Leaders for T1D Cure Team next year, and ride my bike on my side of the ocean to raise money for JDRF. This year my racing bike is gathering dust in the garage, as I’m struggling to find the time to ride. Because of the lack of time I have been spending some more time with my running shoes. So instead of riding, I will be making a donation this year, and I urge you to do the same.
