The end is almost here for Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Fun with Bandai Namco announcing that the game will soon be discontinued. It will go into effect on November 30, 2023. The news also applies worldwide – North America, Europe, and Japan.

The news will not only affect the Switch eShop, but the physical version as well. Bandai Namco says it will no longer be selling the game in stores. However, if you bought it previously, it will continue to work – both the physical and digital version.

Unfortunately, Bandai Namco doesn’t really explain the decision. The company simply thanked fans for their support and “kindly ask for your understanding in this matter.” You can check out the full notice for yourself as posted on social media here.

The one good piece of news is that the Taiko no Tatsujin will still be represented on Switch. Rhythm Festival, which launched about a year ago, can still be purchased. As of now there are no plans to discontinue the game.

Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Fun originally launched for Switch in 2018.
