Southwest Airlines, as you may recall, did not have a good Christmas – New Years holiday travel period in 2022. Many passengers were stranded.

The airline has now agreed to a record-setting $140 million in civil penalty fees for the December 2022 holiday meltdown that had 16,900 flight cancellations and stranded 2 million passengers, the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) stated.

Southwest says it is better prepared for this holiday period.
