The Chinese trio is reportedly willing to play together without any salary for the next DPC season

Somnus, Chalice, and fy are reportedly working on getting the band back together under a new label. These three Chinese Dota 2 icons have previously played together under LGD Gaming, where they achieved incredible success, including a near-win at The International 2018 and a third-place finish at The International 2019.

According to reports from the reliable @Tr1H4rd3rDota2, the legendary trio of Somnus, Chalice, and fy are planning to compete in Tour 3 of the Chinese Dota 2 Pro Circuit. They’ve even expressed their willingness to play without a salary for the next DPC season as they aim to secure a coveted team slot in the league.

Somnus Turned Down Xtreme Gaming And Team Aster

Somnus revealed that he had been offered a spot on the Xtreme Gaming team by the owner himself. While the offer was certainly tempting, Somnus declined, expressing his concern that joining an established team could negatively impact their existing chemistry. Somnus also declined a similar offer from Aster, citing his long absence from competitive Dota 2 play.

During their casting of the Berlin Major 2023, Somnus, Chalice, and fy made an interesting revelation. Somnus expressed his desire to compete professionally once again, citing his aggressive playstyle as a perfect fit for the new patch. He even went as far as saying that he would play for free!

A Reunion Of Former Colleagues

The last time the Dota 2 community saw the powerhouse trio of Fy, Somnus, and Chalice play together was at PSG.LGD, where they finished 2nd at TI8 and 3rd at TI9. Currently, Somnus and Chalice are on the active roster of Royal Never Give Up, while fy is playing with Vici Gaming.

Rumors suggest that Chalice has spilled the beans about his former teammate Somnus joining a new team. According to a streamer who had a chat with Chalice, Somnus has apparently found a new squad and they will be playing without any salary in the upcoming DPC Tour. At first, Chalice thought Somnus was kidding, but it seems there might be some truth to it.

Fans of Dota 2 are abuzz with rumors of a possible reunion between Somnus, Chalice, and fy, three of the game’s most skilled and successful players. While nothing has been confirmed yet, the idea of these players joining forces once again is exciting news for fans who have followed their careers closely.
