Skinny and Franko are up for a rumble, and they are bringing their Fists of Violence with them.

Available right now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S for £15.74, Skinny and Franko: Fists of Violence from Console Labs and Blue Sunset Games is a new beat ’em up that whisks you off to Poland, as you join the titular anti-hero, Franko, as he attempts to get his mate out of trouble.

What plays out is a bit of havoc, a ton of chaos and about as much beat ’em up action as you will ever need in your life. It runs as a 2D smasher that takes what was found in the likes of Franko: The Crazy Revenge from decades back, created by the same folk behind that title. From there you’re getting 30,000 frames of hand-drawn animation, some eight intense stages full of 80 different foes and bosses, 50 different weapons, a host of humour, a smattering of bad language and more.

You can play Skinny and Franko: Fists of Violence either alone or via a two-player cooperative mode (local capabilities only) and we must say that there is a ton of interest in how this one looks; pretty unique for these gaming times.

If you agree and need more, the key features are…

  • – play on 8 intense and packed with enemies and boss fights, hand-drawn main stages with a few bonus levels and secret locations
  • – dive into the story and find out what happened to Skinny and Franko’s friend ‘Shorty’
  • – 30k frames of hand-drawn, old-school animations
  • – use over 50 different weapons and special attacks to beat your enemies
  • – fight over 80 different bullies and morons (no reskins!)
  • – hand drawn and animated characters in a unique, own style
  • – car driving and shooting mini-games
  • – tons of humor and bad language in the game
  • – play solo or in 2-player coop mode
