Scarlet Bolt (Greta)

This gorgeous Amazonian is a great pick for your heroes’ lineup. Even better is that Scarlet Bolt FTP, so there’s no need to break out Mom’s wallet for this one. She boasts decent capabilities that can impact the Colosseum, Rallying, and Monster Hunting. 

But you’ll need to prioritize maxing her to at least Epic before you reap the benefits of having her in your lineup. If you’re smart, you’ll aim for a Legendary grade. So, sit up and pay attention to the gems I’m about to drop about this infantry-type hero.

Who Is Scarlet Bolt?

This backstory is yet another lackluster offering from IGG. But what can I say? I’ve definitely heard worse. Ringing endorsement, I know.

Greta was raised in a jungle where only one rule rang true, survive or die. In this environment, she learned to stay alert, always ready to strike and kill. She later left her home in search of adventure, terrorizing her victims with her weird habit of licking blood off her blade. 

Scarlet Bolt Score

Scarlet Bolt boasts one of the coolest looks on Lords Mobile. It’s edgy and powerful. Even though her backstory isn’t something to write home about, Greta has remarkable killer skills, and her administration capabilities give other heroes a run for their money. You’ll mostly see her featured in Monster Hunt lineups. 

Scarlet Bolt is also a decent choice for the Colosseum, especially if the enemy camp features a double-healing lineup. She’s an awesome agility hero that will help you ramp attacks against enemy troops. 

But Greta does have some limitations. She can only deal single-target damage in Hero mode. Scarlet Bolt also has no Infantry HP or ATK boosts. 

Overall, I’d score Scarlet Bolt a 6/10.

If you don’t agree with my rating, that’s fine. I mean, you are the expert here. No, wait. That would be me. So given my expert assessment, let me tell you why I couldn’t give Greta a higher score.

Let’s take a look at her Battle Skills:

• Massacre: It deals up to 200% Squad ATK as DMG to enemy troops.
• Construction Boost: This passive skill helps set Scarlet Bolt apart as a great administration hero. It boosts her construction speed by up to 20%. This skill always stays activated.
• Infantry DEF Boost: This skill provides the infantry with up to 50% DEF when deployed. But to reap the rewards of the full boost, you’ll have to get her to Gold/Legendary. And let’s be honest. No one’s going to do that.
• Max Energy Boost: This is Scarlet Bolt’s second passive skill. It increases energy for physical Monster Hunting by up to 3,000.

Scarlet Bolt is a very useful hero because her extra construction speed boost can help you build upgrades quicker. Her Max Energy boost also comes in handy in Monster Hunting, and she’s a mainstay on many physical teams.

Now, let’s take a look at her Hero Skills:

• Backstab: Is Greta’s Ultimate Skill one for the books? Absolutely – not. But it does come in handy in the right situations. This skill enables her to attack the enemy with blinding speed from the rear while at the same time inflicting Vulnerable for five seconds.
• Disarm: This is Greta’s first active ability. She deals damage to the enemy’s wrist and inflicts Disarmed for three seconds following the attack.
• Exterminate: This secondary skill aims for the enemy’s weak points dealing Direct Damage.
• Dismal Aura: This one isn’t bad as a passive skill. It reduces enemy DEF by filling opponents with dread just by the mere sight of Scarlet Bolt. Some players mention the effect looks more like she’s frightening people with her stink, but who am I to judge? Terror or stench, it gets the job done.

How to Unlock Scarlet Bolt

As mentioned earlier, as one of “The Golden Hero Trio” heroes, Scarlet Bolt should be one of the first heroes you scale to Gold/Legendary grade. Why? It’s all about this trio’s Administration Skills, and you’ll need them at first.

You’ll get the first 10 medals needed to unlock this hero by completing Stages 3-18 on Normal mode. To upgrade Greta, you’ll need to compete in the Elite Hero Stages:

• Elite 3-12: Along with the “A Thirsty Blade” quest.
• Elite 5-9: The “Crimson Flash” quest.

You’ll need to collect 330 medals to upgrade Scarlet Bolt to Gold/Legendary status.

Scarlet Bolt and the Colosseum

Scarlet Bolt isn’t the top choice for the Colosseum. But, she is a viable option and can become useful if teamed up with the right heroes. She has a decent mix of Hero Skills that come in handy in a Colosseum lineup. She is also a formidable option if you’re looking to destroy a healer in the enemy’s camp. 

Are you looking to attack the enemy from the rear? She’s a good option. She can disarm enemies with a single attack, and her Exterminate skill can crush the enemy mercilessly. 

Rallying With Scarlet Bolt

If you’ve been placing Scarlet Bolt as a rallying leader for your infantry troops, you’re playing the wrong game. She doesn’t have any Infantry ATK and Infantry HP boosts, which is what you need to send your troops to war (that’s if you’re planning to win, of course). There are better Infantry heroes, such as Demon Slayer, who boast a greater mix of battle skills for an Infantry Commander.

Monster Hunting With Scarlet Bolt

Scarlet Bolt is a good choice for Monster Hunting if you’re looking to score prizes and grow in the game. I know you’re used to losing but try and keep up. 

Because of her Max Energy boost, you’ll mainly spot Scarlet Bolt in physical Monster Hunting lineups. Her Disarm ability also comes in handy in blocking monsters from utilizing their physical skills. Pretty smart if you ask me. 

Keep this in mind so that you don’t keep getting stomped: only use Scarlet Bolt against monsters who have high magic defense, such as Grim Ripper, Blackwing, and Queen Bee. Only physical DMG can take out monsters of this kind.

Tips and Trivia

• The “Golden Trio” isn’t good for combat. But they can help you speed up your progress in Lords Mobile, complete your research early and max out your buildings.
• F2P Alternatives: If you’re looking to get a better infantry leader than Scarlet Bolt, try Demon Slayer and Oath Keeper. Unlike Scarlet Bolt, both offer Infantry HP and Infantry ATK boosts.
• P2P Alternatives: Twilight Princess and Grim Wolf are excellent P2P alternatives because apart from Infantry ATK and HP boosts, they come with an added Infantry DEF boost. This makes them the best choice for Infantry Commanders.
