Sky Mavis, developers of Axie Infinity has unveiled new upgrades to Ronin Wallet, the gateway to the ecosystem of games and projects in the Ronin Network. This update, which include multi-chain support is set to roll out in phases in the next 14 days, marking a substantial leap in wallet technology and user experience.

Introduction of Multi-Party Computation (MPC) technology for wallet security by dividing control into multiple shares.
Multi-chain support – expansion of blockchain support not just ethereum but other chains as well.

Phased Deployment

The update deployment will be staggered, with some users gaining immediate access, while others may have to wait up to two weeks.
Sky Mavis assures users that their existing wallets will remain accessible throughout the update period.
Users can update their wallets via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, with a recommendation to review their seedphrase or recovery password beforehand.

Why Multichain?

With multi-chain support, anyone who already has an Ethereum address can join the Ronin ecosystem using their current seed phrase.

Here are some examples of new activities in the Ronin Wallet:

Connecting to decentralized apps like Uniswap
View NFTs on Ethereum and other chains
Manage tokens outside of Ronin ecosystem
Send and receive crypto on Ethereum and other chains
Using the in-app Ronin Wallet browser
Receive news directly about the Ronin ecosystem

The new Ronin Wallet will also have addresses that start with 0x to align with Ethereum, but users can still use the ronin: prefix if preferred.
