Distributed ledger company Ripple has announced a $1 million donation to humanitarian organizations to support the people in Ukraine against their ongoing fight against Russia. The support has come after millions of dollars worth of cryptocurrencies poured into the country as donations to aid Ukraine’s fight against the Russians. Ripple Donates $1 Million to Show Support for Ukraine Ripple CEO and founder Brad Garlinghouse publicly condemned Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, saying it’s unprovoked, unjustified, and unacceptable to maintain some semblance of global order. Showing support to Ukraine, Gralinghouse’s company donated $1 million between the UN refugee agency and the World Kitchen organization. While the UN refugee agency will use the funds to cater to displaced people in Ukraine and neighboring countries, the World Kitchen organization will use the donations funds to feed victims of the ongoing war. Garlinghouse further stated that the donations made to humanitarian organizations match its employees’ donations on a 2:1 scale. He further stated on developing a crypto-to-cash direct giving program for aid to Ukrainian families with the company’s exchanges and NGO partners, and the global XRP community. .@Ripple and I unequivocally condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. It’s my view that Russia’s attack on Ukraine is unprovoked, unjustified, and unacceptable to maintaining some semblance of global order. https://t.co/GCPIxh8fKQ — Brad Garlinghouse (@bgarlinghouse) March 4, 2022 Ukraine Receives Millions in Crypto Donations Since Russia invaded Ukraine on Feb. 24, over 105,000 crypto donations, totaling $55.7 million, (at the time of writing) have gone to the Ukrainian government and Come Back Alive, an NGO providing support to the military, according to data from blockchain analytics firm Elliptic.
