A BOAT shed is among the most coveted property opportunities, in part for the lifestyle but also because there are so few of them.

At Dodges Ferry there is an absolute ripper boat shed that is bound to catch the eye of locals and those that live further afield.

Raine & Horne Sorell, Tasman and East Coast senior property consultant, Danny Boon, said the chance to buy at Red Ochre Beach was few and far between.

“Very rarely do these boat sheds hit the market,” he said.

“I have had a lot of attraction with this listing, especially from buyers located interstate.”

Mr Boon said there are roughly 30 boat sheds along Red Ochre Beach, with his current listing the only one on the market and available to buy.

“This shed is a double conjoined shed, it is larger than others close by,” he said.

“The rules are that boat sheds are for recreational use only; they cannot be permanently lived in.”

The shed is quietly tucked away on the beach in a position looking over to Spectacle Island.

The shed has been recently renovated and will be perfect to host a family and friends looking for a getaway for the day.

The relaxed, neutral tones and elegant atmosphere add to the feeling of serenity inside the shed.

The deck has been re-established, so the next owner can bask in the sun or take a midday nap on the futon inside the shed.

The shed will be ideal for storing summer equipment. No more lugging it to the beach.

Locals enjoy kayaking or supping over to Spec Island where they can enjoy a walk or dive for some fresh fish.

Meanwhile, around greater Hobart, acquiring a boat shed is a bit challenging.

There are a few homes that have sheds by the water, but not many options for buying just a boat shed in the usual places like Cornelian Bay.

There is one for sale at No.37 Gepp Pde, Derwent Park. Another was available privately late last year in Carlton River.

Those seeking the idyllic Red Ochre Beach summer lifestyle can direct boat shed inquiries to Mr Boon.

The Red Ochre Beach boat shed is listed with Raine & Horne, it will be sold by expressions of interest.
