In April 2024, the quantum technology community is set to welcome Davide Bacco, an esteemed Associate Professor at the Department of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Florence, as he speaks at the Inside Quantum Technology conference in The Hague. Bacco, the co-founder of QTI s.r.l., the first Italian startup dedicated to developing and commercializing quantum communication systems, is expected to bring knowledge and innovation to the event.

Bacco’s journey in the field began with his master’s degree in Engineering Telecommunication, obtained in 2011 from the University of Padova, Italy. He further cemented his expertise in the field with a Ph.D. in Science Technology and Spatial Measures (CISAS) from the same university in 2015. His academic credentials set a strong foundation for his subsequent impactful work in quantum communications.

For the past seven years, Bacco has been an integral part of the Department of Electronics and Photonics Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), where his research has predominantly focused on quantum communications, quantum cryptography, and integrated photonics for quantum communications. This extensive background and his work at QTI s.r.l. position him as a leading voice in the quantum technology sector.

At the 2024 Inside Quantum Technology conference, Bacco is anticipated to delve into cutting-edge developments in quantum communication and cryptography, where his research has been particularly influential. His insights into integrating photonics with quantum communications are eagerly awaited, as they promise to offer new perspectives and advancements in the field.

In addition to sharing his latest research findings, Bacco’s experience as a co-founder of QTI s.r.l. will provide a unique entrepreneurial perspective on quantum communication systems’ practical applications and commercialization. This aspect of his presentation is expected to be particularly valuable for attendees interested in the business and startup side of quantum technology.

As April 2024 approaches, the anticipation within the quantum technology community is palpable. Davide Bacco’s participation in the Inside Quantum Technology conference is a much-anticipated event, promising to offer new insights and inspire further advancements in the rapidly evolving field of quantum technology. His expertise in quantum communications and cryptography, combined with his entrepreneurial experience, makes him a highly respected and influential figure in the community.

IQT The Hague 2024 is the Netherlands’ fifth global conference and exhibition. The Hague is a Quantum Technology Event focusing on Quantum Networking and Quantum Security. Ten vertical topics encompassing more than 40-panel talks from over 100 speakers will provide attendees with a deep understanding of state-of-the-art developments of the future quantum internet and the current impact of quantum-safe technologies on cybersecurity and quantum computers.

The conference brings together corporate management, entrepreneurs, end users, technology providers, infrastructure partners, researchers, and investors working on current developments. IQT The Hague is organized by 3DR Holdings, IQT Research, QuTech, QIA (Quantum Internet Alliance), and Quantum Delta, who will bring leading organizations and professionals together in this important event. The April conference is “in-person” to ensure maximum networking and discussion at the Postillion Hotel & Convention Centre in The Hague.
