Cryptoys used Star Wars Day to unveil the new non-fungible token collection.

Cryptoys, a digital toy platform created by OnChain Studios and a non-fungible token (NFT) startup, announced the upcoming release of the Star Wars NFT collection.

The NFT collection of 15 limited edition digital toys is set to launch on May 24th, adding to the firm's pop culture "digital toys" repertoire.

The collection will include digital toys depicting well-known characters such as Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Darth Vader. Minted on the Flow blockchain, the NFTs will be priced at $39.99.

It is worth noting that the company has previously collaborated with popular toy brands, such as Mattel.

The Star Wars NFTs come in five quirky, stylized designs, with rarity levels ranging from "Common" to "Ultra Grail." They'll be housed in digital "holocrons"—data storage devices inspired by the sci-fi film series. Each pack will be a "blind box," leaving buyers in suspense about which character they'll receive until the moment they open it.

Will Weinraub, CEO, and co-founder of Cryptoys' parent company OnChain Studios, expressed his excitement in a statement, saying:

We’ve all been Star Wars fans since we were kids, which is why it’s an absolute dream come true to bring Star Wars collectible digital toys to the Cryptoys platform.

However, Cryptoys isn't the first to release Star Wars-themed NFT collectibles. VeVe, a digital collectibles platform with NFTs from various Disney and Marvel properties, has previously launched sets that include 3D digital models, digital posters, and comic book covers.

It is not the first time digital collectibles are venturing into pop culture. Various companies have launched NFT collections for Game of Thrones, Godzilla vs. Kong, David Bowie, and Anthony Hopkins' Eternal Collection.

The upcoming Star Wars NFT collection from Cryptoys offers fans a unique way to celebrate their love for the iconic franchise while diving into the world of digital collectibles.

At the end of April, the animated franchise The Smurfs launched an NFT collection linked to its Web3 platform.
