New trailer teases potential Overwatch 2 Sombras rework

Hero reworks help keep them fresh, providing new gameplay while allowing those familiar with the hero to stay true to their identity.

And in a recent speculation, fans believe the recent Overwatch 2 trailer teased a Sombra rework. The screenshot shows Sombra throwing out a device, which appears to be a “new translocator.”

The fan that initially noted the change stated “I looked at every trans from every angle. This is an entirely new thing.”

Players speculate the new device may potentially point towards a potential rework for the hero. After throwing the device in the trailer, Sombra teleports to it. She then grins mischievously, and creates a sphere around her — likely hacking all within the vicinity.

Many gamers remain skeptical of the supposed teaser, believing the discrepancy to be attributed purely do to design error.

“Can we also acknowledge that for this one frame in the trailer, they use OW1 model and then immediately switch back to the new one,” one redditor commented.

This switch between models leads some to assume the animators simply used the OW1 model for the translocator.

Overwatch Cavalry noted this speculation — and proved that the translocator in the trailer is actually different from that of OW1.

According to Overwatch Calvary, they claimed that “Alec Dawson previously stated that ‘there’s a new toy in terms of an ability or something in her kit that’s very different.’

For those unaware, Alec Dawson is the lead Hero designer for Overwatch 2. This would therefore point towards the potential of Sombra’s rework.

But of course, this all remains speculation until further evidence is shown. If there are any updates or official confirmations, expect The Game Haus to cover it.
