If you find yourself in the Northern Hemisphere, you’ll hopefully have been praising the emergence of the sun peeping out from the moody clouds in recent days and weeks – yes, spring has sprung and summer is coming! And what better way to spend your summer than enjoying some indie puzzle games?

Moonrise Fall, releasing today on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, following releases on PC and Switch, tells the tale of a boy who finds himself crashed in a mystical forest, following the tragic loss of his parents in a car crash. I didn’t say this one would be a happy puzzler!

Exploring the depths of the forest, all masked in a beautiful pixel art style, you’ll be solving a number of tricky brain-teasers, as well as collecting all manner of items, all in order to get to the bottom of this supernatural conspiracy.

Our protagonist seems trapped in this forest, and only by venturing through the trees, mines and caves can we help him piece the scraps of knowledge together, and understand why (and who) is holding him in this flora prison.

Armed with his trusty camera, you will also help the boy to photograph the many otherworldly creatures that reside in the forest: we all love a compendium to fill out!

Moonrise Fall is now available on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, and given the ‘Positive’ score for the game on Steam, it may well be worth your £8.39 paid on the Xbox Store.
