MeaWallet is Digital First, and here’s how this helps you

Hi everyone,

It’s been a while since our last blog post, so we wanted to get things back up with a bang: Mastercard has listed MeaWallet as one of only three (as of October 2022) Digital First Integration Providers in the USE category!

Before we get into celebrating our laurels, let’s have a look at what the title signifies.

In Mastercard’s words, Digital First is

A proven consumer journey that engages consumers across the payment lifecycle

Meaning someone who fully or in part “delivers an innovative and secure digital card experience that makes it easier to pay and enjoy the value of the card in ways that personally matter.”

In other words, think of it as Mastercard partnering up with companies like MeaWallet to provide seamless, immediate, and convenient payment options to its digitally connected consumers.

Mastercard shows what this means for the consumers quite nicely in this video:

Why does being a one-stop-shop Digital First vendor matter?

That’s all well and good, but what’s the big deal? There’s a slew of benefits to sourcing digital card services through one vendor, the main ones being the following:

Seamless integration

Every piece of software built from multiple building parts relies on the individual building blocks fitting together. The more different plugins, add-ons, etc., from different vendors, the more complications can arise. What are the dependencies? How much more work will it take to maintain multiple components with one solution, and will the entire system still work if one component is updated?

Sourcing a complete solution through one vendor will alleviate these concerns as the individual components are designed to work together and tested to function after an update.

Cohesive user experience

Sourcing as many feature components as possible from the same vendor will result in a more robust and faster product. Consumers can feel the effects in the shape of a more fluid and responsive interface with fewer bugs or hiccups.

The term “digital first” also signals that digital aspects take priority. A company specializing in digital products will likely excel at creating great digital user experiences compared with suppliers with a broader scope of products.

Specialized support

A company with expert knowledge can save you a lot of time and money! They can help you accelerate development, launch a solution faster, or be a great resource in day-to-day business. After all, every minute your developers don’t have to spend looking for edge-case solutions, they can focus on what really matters to your company.
